Every wedding day I’m reminded why I love weddings so much. A lot of it has to do with the feeling of the day. Maybe it’s because I live far from from my own family, or maybe it’s just the way I was raised, but big family events, whether my own or clients’, make me feel right at home.

Caity + Scott’s family and friends were so welcoming to my assistant and I. That’s always huge on the wedding day. We essentially spend more time with the couple and family than any other wedding vendor, so it’s so reassuring when greeted with open arms. Not only was this group kind, but they were especially fun to be around!

Caity + Scott have known each other for years, therefore they have a lot of mutual friends and their families know each other well. The love for these two was overflowing at the Regatta Inn all throughout the day! You know a couple is loved when their family and friends travel multiple states to witness their wedding day!

We started off that afternoon with a first look at The Regatta, followed by a trolley ride to downtown Charleston for formal portraits. The whole wedding party and immediate family took the ride for photos. Once we got downtown we basically took up the corner of Tradd Street and East Bay as we went through the “must have” shots of the day.

The colors that Caity chose were perfect for a summer wedding. The girls wore pink and rose gold colored bridesmaids dresses, which ironically perfectly matched Caity’s favorite cocktail, sparkling rose. Caity was in a stunning lace gown with her hair pulled back in a gorgeous up-do by Lashes and Lace. Let’s not forget Scott! He was looking sharp in a stylish blue suit. The colors all meshed so well. If you know me you know my love for pastels, so I couldn’t get enough of the colors! I especially loved that Caity’s dad wore a seersucker suit, which is essential for any Charleston wedding!

As I watched throughout the day, I could see that Caity + Scott are not just husband and wife, but they are best friends who have grown in love over the years. Based on the heartfelt speeches, I know that everyone in their life is so thrilled that they ended up together. Caity + Scott thank you so much for picking me to be a part of your Charleston wedding! Let me know the next time you are in town!
